This month's trip to China Wall was a great success. We had a great turn out for the run. If I'm not mistaken, there were ten vehicles, of varying capabilities, on the trail. Everything from the highly modified to bone stock.

The day started out kinda rough for Jeff. He managed to shear his front driveshaft bolts as he was pulling into the Western gas station. A quick phone call to Andy, and a pit stop at the local parts store, and Jeff was fixed up and we were on our way.

The trail had a few inches of untouched powder on it just to make it interesting. China Wall is one of those trails that is as easy or as hard as you make it. All of us were having a good time finding rocks to test our suspension on. Andy, Kendall, and I rounded a corner to find Norm and Jason hooked up to Jeff. He managed to back the left side of his mini into a three foot ditch while keeping the right side on level ground, and over it went. The worst part of it, according to Jeff, was the fact that he had no body damage as a trophy!

There is an obstacle that I call the rockpile on this trail that can be very challenging if your spotter gets a little creative. Charlie and David took an excellent photo shoot line, got nice and twisted, and came off the rocks very clean. Andrew got Andy to take a really radical line. Things got a little hairy for a few seconds, but Andy managed to pull it off. Every one got over without straps.

The trail ends in a nice camping spot. We ate lunch there and then headed back to the rockpile. That's when the fun really began. Everyone took a harder line this time. Andrew got really crossed up and had to back off and try again. Jeff decided to take a tough line and managed to shear the bolts off of his front driveshaft, and spit out a u-joint cap on his rear shaft at the same time. We got him off the rocks, he pulled his front shaft, fixed his rear shaft, and we were on our way. I guess it just wasn't Jeff's day.

All in all, it was one of the best runs that I have been on with The Club. Everyone had a great time, a lot of pictures were taken, and everyone made it.

Good Wheelin' :) Charlie
